Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Any personal information shared is treated with care, used only where necessary, and handled in line with legal requirements. Planning a ceremony involves sharing personal details, and those details are used only for what is required to legally marry you and do the job properly. The policy below explains what is collected, why it is needed, and how it is looked after.
Privacy Policy
First things first. Your personal details are your business.
I collect only what I need to legally marry you and create your ceremony. Nothing more. Nothing shady. Nothing weird.
Here’s how it works.
1. What Information I Collect (And Why I Actually Need It)
To do this properly, I collect:
✅ Your names, contact details, and wedding date. Because I need to know who you are and when we’re doing this.
✅ Your legal details, including full legal names, places of birth, identification, and previous marriages if applicable. Australian law requires this information to lodge your marriage with Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM).
✅ Personal details about your relationship and story. Not because the government needs them, but because I do. This is what allows your ceremony to sound like you, not something pulled from a template.
✅ Any preferences or special requests, including cultural traditions, pronouns, or ceremony considerations. Because inclusivity and accuracy matter.
2. How I Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly for:
📌 Booking your date and managing invoicing
📌 Writing and delivering your ceremony
📌 Lodging your legal paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages
📌 Communicating with you about what is needed before the day
That’s it.
No spam.
No mailing lists.
No “just checking in” emails for no reason.
And definitely no random messages at 2am.
3. Who Sees Your Information?
🔒 No one, unless legally required.
Your information is only shared when your marriage paperwork is submitted to Births, Deaths and Marriages, using secure government systems. That’s the extent of it.
4. How Your Data Is Stored (a.k.a. The Vault)
Your information is stored securely while we work together and treated with care.
Once your ceremony has taken place and your marriage is lodged:
✅ Legal records are retained for the period required by law
✅ All other information is deleted when it is no longer needed
Think of it as necessary paperwork kept, everything else cleared out.
5. Cookies and Website Tracking (The Internet Kind, Not the Fun Kind)
If you browse my website, cookies may collect basic usage data. This is standard website analytics and helps me understand how people use the site.
No personal information is collected.
No tracking of your searches.
No judgement on your browsing habits.
If you are Googling “best vows ever written”, I respect the effort.
6. Your Rights (Because You Do Have Them)
You have the right to:
✅ Ask what personal information I hold about you
✅ Request deletion of your information, except for records I am legally required to retain
✅ Raise concerns if you believe your information is being handled improperly
✅ Choose whatever wedding song you want without judgement (no guarantees, but I’ll keep it to myself)
